Conclusion
What emotional response were you trying to elict?
I wanted people to understand pain differently. All three of these paintings deals with the concept of pain and saddness . Most people think they are too "mature " to talk about their feelings even though they might be suffering . Thier response is always "That is my business not yours" They are running away from their problems and when they do that they feel lonely , sometimes they feel like ending their life. This is bad. The only way they got to the most lowest point of their life is because they didnt talk . Your life can change by just talking. The only way to change these people who think their too mature for something is help them realize pain doesnt need to be visible . I dont need to see cuts on your wrists and bruises on your skin to know your being unfair to yourself.Just by talking about feelings i think we would become more stronger as individuals but most importanlty as a community.
What personal connection is there between you and your work?
I have people in my life who dont share their feelings because they think they are too mature , they think they could handle it and they think they would hurt someone . Then they isolate themselves from the society. They turn back to their old habits. Some how you feel their pain. They are moving on and your in the same same place . Your trying to move on but it is not wroking . Now your in pain , instead of loving them, now you hate them . Your problems in your head increases, you have no control , everything you create is dark. You think the story ended , the next day your mood changes ,so does your painting. When your work is being displayed , people ask questions like what does it mean , you tell a half lie.
What global connection is there to your works?
Mental stigma is my connection to the world. 1 out of 5 people have mental problems or illness and they dont even know. People dont talk about this , it is more a hush hush thing. Most people are like get over it or grow up. Mental stigma does exist , due to this people fall into depression and some of them even commit suicide. Also , due the violence that is increasing suicide and mental stigma has become a trend. We need to end this and make peace .
Why are these pieces important to you ?
These pieces are important to be because it is a glimpse of mind. I went really personel with these pieces , where i took out all of my problems and put it into my artwork. Those pieces are the living truth of my issues. My paintings start to have their own personality and try to teach me a lesson , they become living individuals that haunt my brain .
How do these speacifically show your growth?
These paintings show my growth. These painting are more complex and I used multi media . I became in touch with my surroundings and was able to illustrate reality in my own way. My techniques have expanded ,my ideas and concepts became more large scale . As an artist, through my artwork i was able to express my true self and not afraid of sharing my feelings. My work became personel.
How did this creation of this change you as an artist and a person ?
It is a overwhelming feeling , how something you have created becomes a person talks to you. It is like your personalities have splilted in half. As an artist your able to look at yourself from a different person. Sometimes you become the critiquer. As a normal person it helps you understand the state of the artist , their sreative process .It makes you appreciate all types of art and the messages behind them. Art is a language without the words , instead you have the elements and principles of design to help you explain your self and your beliefs .
