Artist Statement; The concept behind this piece is how sometimes were so ghost like, we seem like we dont exist , we dont have a purpose , your doing what you can but its not working . You are putting colour and markings in your face by smiling but no one cares to notice . You feel worthless, unhuman.Your reality is constructed by your sadness and the only living truth you know is how lonely and depressed you are . If they dont care then why should you , you close your eyes and live in your own word . They see black but you see colour.

 

Elements and Principles of Design:

 

Elements of Design: There is line in the face , some lines are diagonal and  some are straight which create the hatch. The lines on the head are curved so it gives the illusion of hair .There is space in the areas lines and there is space in the arrangement of the human feaures.There is colour made by coffe to give it a skin tone. There is value in the face made by coffe.

 

Principles of Design: There is emphasis made by the coffe and the use of black pen. There is balance due to the use of elements , the painting is asymmerical , it gives the impression of equatity and importance of weight.
